COVID 19 RESPONSE—COMFORT BAPTIST CHURCH
Dear Comfort Baptist Church family:
In compliance with the CDC, as well as with state and local authorities, and in conjunction with the church staff and the church council, the ministerial leadership of Comfort Baptist Church has decided to suspend ALL meetings and on-campus activities until further notice, including Bible studies and on-site corporate worship services. We will continue to evaluate our circumstances according to the CDC guidelines and will keep you informed of any changes or new developments through email, Facebook, and our church website. While we are temporarily refraining from meeting together physically to prevent the possible spreading of any potential illness through the church body, from our homes we will continue to gather in spirit and in worship.
To that end, Sunday morning worship will ONLY be live-streamed at 10:45 through our Comfort Baptist Church Facebook page (https://facebook.com/comfortbaptistchurch36). The worship service will NOT BE OPEN for personal on-campus participation, so we are urging and encouraging you to watch the live-stream on Facebook at 10:45 from the convenience of your home. Should you be unable to watch the live streaming of the service, it will be re-posted later in the week on our church Facebook page for you to view at your convenience.
Although we are suspending activities for the time being, we do want you to know that the church will continue to remain active. We are committed to continuing the ministry of the church and to physically being the hands and feet of Christ to the best of our ability, within the church and in the community. The church office will maintain normal office hours Monday through Thursday, 8am-4pm, and we will be available to be reached via phone and email. If you have a specific need to be met, please call the church office and we will make every effort to help. To ensure that we do our part in encouraging and maintaining social distancing, we ask that you please call the church office before making any visit to the church campus.
I also want to encourage each of you to remain faithful in giving to the Lord and to His work. Please mail your tithes and offerings to Comfort Baptist Church, P.O. Box 86, Comfort 78013, and continue to support the work and ministry of the church as we seek to know Him and make Him known to our community.
As a sister church in the Hill Country has so aptly stated, this is “uncharted territory”…not only for Comfort Baptist Church, but for every church in our nation. But we can be confident that our faithful God will be with us every step of the way and see us through as we walk in faith together. Please stay connected to email, Facebook, and the church website for updates and any new developments. Thank you for faithfulness, flexibility, and patience during this season. God is our refuge and strength, our help in trouble, and I am fully confident that He will deliver us.
In the meantime, let us continue to pray for one another and serve one another as best as we can. Let’s be the church and diligently offer care and compassion to one another and for those in our neighborhoods and communities as we have opportunity, being bold and diligent witnesses and humble servants as we have been called to be. Let’s share the words of eternal life and put on love, demonstrating to all people that Jesus Christ is at work in His people, and together we’ll have a front-row seat to watch God turn the uncertainty of these days into triumph, for His power and glory.
